Une
dynastie la famille Tyrrell's Wines depuis 1850.
Edward
Tyrrell arrived in Sydney from England in 1850. He Launched the Tyrrell's
winemaking tradition on being grantel 330 acres of prime Hunter Valley
land to the west of Newcastle in 1858. Fortunately for us, he was one
of the last people to take up a land selection in the Valley, a happy
accident which meant he got the soil and position alongside the Brokenback
Range that, then and now, produce the finest Hunter grapes and wines.
The tiny ironbark slab hut, built in 1858, in which Edward Tyrrell lived
alone for some years, still stands at our family winery.
